Glyn Jones is the Chairman and Strategic Advisor to Avon Utilities and Generation. Glyn previously founded the Sterling Power Group providing a full range of engineering design and construction services to the utility and embedded generation markets. With 40 years in the energy industry, he established the first private independent gas company in the UK and set the strategy for the competitive electricity supply business. He is well versed in energy generation, distribution, and governance issues, having served as Managing Director of key businesses entering the competitive marketplace and as National Chair of the CiC Code of Practice Competition in Connections Governance Group. Glyn is registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and is a Member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (MIET).
